    No matter what size you get, these slide down your heel. Don't bother.

    Though I have had very good luck with a number of Thorlo socks, and I really appreciate the colors of these "XCCU" socks, they slide down my heels. I've tried multiple pairs in three different sizes, with four different running shoes, and ALL OF THEM slide down my heels! EVERY SINGLE PAIR! I don't know what's wrong with these socks. I don't know if it's an elasticity issue or what, but they just don't work. I wear about a size 10.5 running shoe. I have tried these in the sizes that are marked on the socks as 11, 12, and 13. With most other socks, I've used a slightly small size, so that's why I started with the size 11 ones. Admittedly, Thorlo lists that as a bit small, so I ordered the ones marked size 12, which are supposedly the correct size for my feet. But, no dice. They slid down my heels within minutes. So... I then ordered them in the size that has a 13 stitched into them, above the toes. They're just a bit better, but a bit bulky in my shoes, as they're really otherwise too big for my feet. I just can't win with these. So, now, I have about ten pairs of these and not one of them is really wearable. Maybe your feet/ankles aren't shaped like mine. I weigh 155 lbs am 5', 10" tall and have what I think look like pretty normal men's ankles, and run about 20 miles a week in size 10.5 Mizuno Wave Prophecy or various very squishy Nikes, also at size 10.5. Sadly, these are a complete failure for me. (I'm going to rate Thorlos, in general, higher that I would just for this particular sock, because many of their other socks are quite good. But, this sock would get a zero!)

    I was a little skeptical of these socks, because they were advertised as being "moderate cushion" thickness. I am a true lover of the "thick" socks for running both trail and road. So, the 1st time I wore them was on a long training run, I thought "lets see how good these socks really are"! Well, I ran the 11 miles and my feet did ache as well as my legs and mind, but not from lack of sock support! I really enjoyed these socks, my feet were dry and comfortable, and no difference in how my feet felt then with my "thick" Thorlo socks. I only wish they had more color options....we gals like colorful socks!
