“Be Brave. Be Positive. Have the Heart.”
Ellen Meets Braylon
You might have seen videos of Braylon Beam dancing through hospital hallways. Maybe you watched him guest DJ on the Ellen DeGeneres Show. Or perhaps you saw him on the sidelines dancing with Cam Newton quarterback of the NFL Carolina Panthers. Brain cancer cannot dull Braylon’s big personality, and he is able to inspire others wherever he goes.
When doctors found an inoperable tumor on Braylon’s right optic nerve, the active five-year-old’s life went from playing sports to long days sitting at the St. Jude Affiliate Clinic at Novant Health Hemby Children’s Hospital. In order to make treatments more fun, Braylon and his dad turned up the music and started to dance. Soon, videos of Braylon went viral and he gained national attention as he danced his way through chemo.
Now in remission, Braylon has become a face of encouragement to young children facing cancer and adults alike. In January of 2016, the Beams established Bringit4Braylon, a nonprofit designed to help alleviate some of the financial burdens associated with pediatric cancer. Bringit4Braylon is managed by Novant Health Foundation.
Since Braylon loves socks almost as much as we do, Thorlo has partnered with Bringit4Braylon to make “The Beam” Sock. Braylon designed these bright socks in order to bring a smile to everyone who wears them, and the proceeds ($7.50 per pair) will be donated to the Bringit4Braylon Foundation.
Thank you for your support! Make sure you tag #Bringit4Braylon and #ChildhoodCancerAwareness while wearing your "BEAM" Sock and post to social media. Follow along on this amazing journey and show of courage from a boy with a wish.
